HOM Poster Montage

Thank you for your interest in a Pennsylvania Harvest of the Month promotional kit!

Pennsylvania Harvest of the Month (PA HOM) is a program developed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Project PA (Penn State University) to promote a local agricultural product each month through schools, child and adult care centers/day care homes, and summer feeding sites. I Tried It StickerThe program aims to provide participants with local, healthy products while supporting Pennsylvania farmers and producers. Through a partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and Project PA (Penn State University), the Pennsylvania Department of Health is happy to provide kits to promote the PA HOM program. Since this opportunity was open to school food authorities in 2020, priority in 2021 will be given to Child and Adult Care Food Program sponsors and non-school food authority summer meals sponsors.

Each kit will include the following promotional items:

  • (1) PA HOM banner
  • (2000) “I tried it” stickers
  • (10) PA HOM logo buttons
  • (30) 24”x36” posters featuring different monthly featured items

Supply of these kits is limited, and applications will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis through July 31, 2021 or until the supply runs out. If supplies allow, kits may be distributed to multiple sites connected to one sponsor.

Receipt of a kit requires data collection and evaluation.  Participants commit to:

  • Completing a brief 5-minute evaluation survey in June 2022.
  • Completing a Promising Practice submission on the PA HOM website in June 2022.  Guidance on completing the Promising Practice is available here: (https://www.paharvestofthemonth.org/index.php/promising-practices).
  • Information about the survey and a reminder to complete the Promising Practice submission will be sent in May 2022.

Submission of this application indicates your agreement to complete the survey and a Promising Practices submission for each site receiving a kit by June 30, 2022.
